College Completion Rates Recover After Slide

Six-year college completion rates were 54.8 percent for students who enrolled in 2010, new data from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center shows. That’s 1.9 percent higher than the previous year, suggesting that completion rates are starting to rise again. A surge in college enrollment followed the economic recession, and a drop in completion rates followed that surge. What is contributing to the completion rate recovery?
