Strayer and Capella Announce Merger
Inside Higher Ed
The current climate in higher education presents a unique opportunity for for-profit colleges to work together in order to stay competitive. One example is the merger of parent companies for Strayer University and Capella University. The two institutions, which are among the most respected and successful in the for-profit space, will operate under a new name, Strategic Education, Inc. The Department of Education will need to sign off on the merger; if approved, it will bring together around 80,000 students and almost 135 degree and certificate programs.
