According to a new report from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a national approach to improving education quality is key because students will need new skill sets as the workforce continues to change due to technology and automation. “Too little attention is currently paid to the undergraduate educational experience itself,” the report explains.

Online courses are an ideal way for small colleges and universities to boost enrollment numbers amid the recent trend of closures. While many small institutions have rejected online learning as too impersonal, “schools ignoring digital opportunities will end up falling behind,” according to Robert Ubell, Vice Dean Emeritus of Online Learning at NYU. The shift to online can be intimidating, but a growing number of resources and partnerships can make the transition easier.
International students entering Canada up 22% to 270,000

The number of international students seeking an education in Canada continues to rise, with 268,631 international students entering Canada last year. The fastest growing markets were in China and India, with Vietnamese students also increasing almost 55 percent. A safe environment and “warm and welcoming” government policies have contributed to these numbers, according to IDP research on global study destinations.
