Trump calls for vocational ed expansion in State of the Union
During his State of the Union address, President Donald Trump called for an increase in vocational education efforts. He linked this need for growth to investing in workforce development and job training. Of course, “the need for better career and technical education options predates the Trump administration,” but traditional vocational fields have been disrupted in recent years by automation and other factors. The shifting economy has forced both higher education and vocational training to adapt their models in order to meet the needs of learners.
